General Info

Tucked away at 301 Nagashimacho Oshitsuke, Kuwana, Mie 511-1113, Japan, Pizzeria Ken is the kind of neighborhood pizza restaurant that quickly earns a spot on your list of favorite local dining places. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming-perfect for a casual lunch or an easygoing dinner with friends. The menu focuses on authentic pizza flavors, but the experience goes well beyond just pizza, offering a variety of dishes and drinks that make each visit memorable.

One of the best ways to start a meal here is with the 前菜キッシュコーン スープ. It’s a warm and comforting appetizer that sets the tone for the rest of the meal. The texture is smooth and satisfying, making it a great introduction before moving on to the restaurant’s pizza specialties. During my visit, the dish arrived quickly, and it paired nicely with a cold beer from the drink menu.

Of course, pizza is the real star at Pizzeria Ken. The マルゲリータ ピッツァ is a classic choice and a favorite among regulars. The crust has that ideal balance-crispy on the outside while still soft inside. The simple combination of ingredients allows the flavors to shine naturally. Another standout from the menu is the プロシュート, which adds a savory depth that complements the pizza base beautifully.

Seafood lovers should definitely try the 海の幸バジル風味ピスタチオ. This dish brings together fresh ocean flavors with a fragrant basil twist and a subtle pistachio finish. It’s a unique offering that adds variety to the restaurant’s lineup and shows the kitchen’s creativity. Meanwhile, if you’re visiting earlier in the day, the ランチのフンギビザ is a popular lunch option that many reviews mention for its rich mushroom flavor and satisfying portion.

The dining experience is equally enhanced by the drink selection. Guests can enjoy beer and cocktails, which pair nicely with the savory dishes. For those planning an evening visit, dinner at Pizzeria Ken feels relaxed yet lively, making it a great place to unwind after a long day.

Service is smooth and convenient. Lunch reservations are recommended, especially during busy periods when the restaurant fills up quickly. The location is easy to access, and payments are simple thanks to Transit IC card support, which many travelers appreciate.

Overall, Pizzeria Ken delivers a balanced dining experience-great pizza, flavorful menu items, friendly service, and a comfortable setting. Whether you’re exploring dining spots in Kuwana or simply searching for a reliable pizza restaurant, this location offers a satisfying meal that keeps guests coming back.

What customers say?

“ I've been here many times. The appetizers, pizza, pasta, and desserts are all delicious and to my liking. However, it's a shame that the after-meal coffee, which was previously included in the set meal, will be charged separately (400 yen) from October. Dessert is also a separate charge (400 yen), so I'd be happy if they could be ordered together for 600 yen after a meal. ”

“ Pizzeria KEN is a fantastic place for anyone craving authentic, delicious pizza! The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with fresh, high-quality toppings that burst with flavor. Their wood-fired oven really adds that special smoky touch you can’t get anywhere else. The atmosphere is cozy and casual — great for casual dinners or catching up with friends. The staff are attentive and welcoming, making the whole experience enjoyable. Definitely one of the best pizzerias around. Highly recommend! ”

“ Very cosy and friendly Japanese family-run pizzeria. Wood fired pizzas and Bolognese were excellent. A showcase of Italian technique with local produce and flavours tuned to the Japanese palate. ”

“ 5 stars all around. I love Naples style pizza cooked in a wood fired oven. This pizza is the best. Dough is perfect - soft but crunchy crust, perfectly seasoned sauce, mozzarella cheese still tender and not chewy or burned and basil still fresh. Salad was great as well, and the corn soup was very nice. ”

“ Enjoying delicious pizza at Pizzeria KEN on the way from Nagoya to Nabana no Sato Visit Time • We visited for Sunday lunch. It was just after opening, so we were able to enter without a reservation, but it quickly filled up, so it's best to make a reservation on weekends. Order Menu • Bismarck Pizza • Gorgonzola Pizza Good Points/Recommendations • The appeal is the affordable price, yet satisfyingly large pizzas. • The Bismarck Pizza perfectly combines the meaty sausage, the refreshing tartness of the tomato, and the smoothness of the soft-boiled egg. The more you eat, the more you appreciate the harmony of flavors. • The Gorgonzola Pizza is creamy and rich. Drizzling it with honey perfectly balanced the sweet and salty flavors, creating an addictive taste. Points for Improvement • The lunch menu felt a little pricey. The pizza and pasta options are limited, and adding an appetizer costs an additional 400-500 yen, so the value could use a little more effort. Summary The flavor and portion sizes are both satisfying, and the quality of the pizza is especially recommended. However, there is room for improvement in the contents and pricing of the lunch sets. This popular restaurant requires reservations on weekends. ”

“ I have to say that all are good. The bolognese pasta is superb. The steak is also good. Pizza dough is the real napolian dough. ”

“ I was just casually looking for a restaurant when I came across this one and decided to drop in. It was an incredible find! Pizza prices start from around 1,400 yen. Dinner, which had a course menu, was around 2,800 yen(?). We had two pizzas for two people and both were excellent. They seemed to be authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, with fluffy crust and delicious cheese. ”

“ We entered the restaurant shortly after it opened at 11:00 on a weekday, but there were already three groups of customers there. It was full before 11:30. We ordered a lunch for two. Each appetizer was packed with a variety of ingredients. The pizza had a fluffy, chewy crust and was very delicious. We also had the mentaiko, nagaimo, and shiso oil pasta, and the texture of the nagaimo and the saltiness of the mentaiko were just right. I'd like to make it at home! Everything was delicious, so I could see why this restaurant is so popular. The staff wiped down the tables and chairs between customers, which made me think it was a very clean restaurant. I'd like to return and bring friends! ”
